Moulin des Chauteix is an old watermill not far from the small village of St Gervais D'Auvergne which is situated in the Auvergne region of central France (department Puy de Dome).
Are you looking for a fantastic holiday at this unique place? That is possible!! We have two gites, the millers house which is situated opposite the mill and is suitable for a maximum of four people, or rent part of the mill which is a lot bigger and sleeps up to 7 people.

The very cosy millers house is for rent for a maximum of four people. It has two bedrooms (one double and one twin), kitchen with microwave and oven, bathroom, washingmachine, tv + video with a selection of films for all ages, boardgames, books, a fire place and all the conveniences you need for a wonderful holiday! There is one big terrace which is shared with guests from the mill, besides that we have created various places to sit and relax. Lie in the hammock along the river to read a book in the shade, sit in the sun on the terrace with a view over the valley and enjoy a glass of french wine and a barbeque! The nearest village is less than 5 minutes drive where you can get a nice fresh baguette there is also a small shop, butcher and a bar with a restaurant. In the bigger village of St Gervais d'Auvergne you'll find a small supermarket, bank, tourist information and a selection of bars and restaurants. |

There is plenty of sightseeing, walking, rafting, fishing, cycling in the neighbourhood.
You can rent a horse and explore the beautiful hills of the Combrailles, canoe on the Sioule river, trout fishing in one of the many lakes, admire the breathtaking views from the Puy de Dome or simply relax at the house along the river. We have four mountain bikes which you can rent for the day or the week!
There is a folder in the house with information for day trips and walking maps. Outside there is one big shared terrace and there are a few picknick tables and benches with the choice to sit in the sun or the shade.
The stream the Chalamont runs past the mill where you can fish for trout or have a paddle to cool off during the hot summer days. The volcanoes are covered with snow in the winter, the Montdore ski resort is about an hours drive from the mill. |
